Assistant Professor of Organisational Behaviour

Industrial Relations and Organisational Behaviour Group (IROB)

University of Warwick – Warwick Business School

£36,715 pa

Fixed term contract for 2 years from 1 October 2010

Warwick Business School is one of the foremost research-led departments of its kind in the UK. It was the first of an elite global group to be endorsed by all 3 international business school accreditation bodies: AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB. In the recent 2008 Research Assessment Exercise it submitted research output from over 130 staff. 75% of this work was recognised as being internationally excellent and rated as 3* and above. This resulted in an average ranking of 2.95 placing WBS joint 5th in the UK.

Underpinned by the breadth, depth and quality of its research, WBS offers a wide range of business and management degrees from undergraduate through postgraduate and post-experience to its doctoral programme. It also offers a range of accredited courses and customised programmes.

You will possess a PhD (or be close to completion of a PhD) within the broad field of Organisational Behaviour (OB). You will be conducting high quality research within that field which has either been published in, or has the clear potential to be published in, leading international journals. You will have the ability to teach core OB modules at undergraduate, specialist masters and MBA level. The ability to teach on non-core specialisms within OB would also be advantageous.

Given the temporary nature of this post, you would not be expected to undertake any significant administrative roles but you would be required to act as a module leader and to undertake personal tutor roles.

This post will provide cover for Professor Christopher Grey by virtue of his having been awarded a Leverhulme Major Research Fellowship. It is an excellent opportunity for an early-career academic within the OB field to develop their research and teaching profile.
