The CSC Genomics Laboratory () provides state-of-the-art facilities for high throughput genomics research for investigators at the CSC, Imperial College using conventional (ABI 3730) and next generation sequencing (Solexa, ABI SOLiD and Roche 454 platforms) and microarray (Affymetrix and Agilent) technologies.
This tenured position is for a Bioinformatician specialised in high throughput genomics data analysis to facilitate the work of various research groups in the CSC using next generation sequencing and microarray technologies. You will perform bioinformatics analysis of different genomics data modalities and will provide support to research groups working on the genomic and epigenetic control of gene expression to investigate the genetic basis of common human diseases.
The successful applicant will have an MSc or equivalent experience in bioinformatics with good programming skills and proven experience in genome analysis and microarray data analysis. Previous experience in analysis of large-scale genomics data would be an advantage. Excellent communication skills and the ability to support and train researchers with genomics data analysis is essential.The post holder will work alongside another Bioinformatician in the Genomics Laboratory and will be part of a growing Computational Biology community at the CSC.
