We are looking for a bright, well-motivated post-doctoral researcher with strong epidemiological/statistical skills to undertake research using existing routinely collected data on whether there are gender differences in consulting for particular chronic or life-threatening illnesses. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to receive postdoctoral experience in a leading research establishment with a view to developing a research career in the field of social public health research. This 3 year post offers opportunities to undertake research in an exciting, timely and policy-relevant area whilst gaining further research training.
You must have an honours degree and a PhD (awarded, about to be awarded or very close to submission) in a biological, biomedical or social science, epidemiology or public health. The PhD should include a strong quantitative component. You should also have a good understanding of epidemiological methods and statistics, experience of undertaking multivariate statistical analyses and knowledge of appropriate statistical packages (e.g. SPSS, Stata, SAS, R).
This is a Medical Research Council Band 4 post with salary of £26,022 to £27,623 pa.
