We are looking for a technically skilled Chief Technician/Laboratory Manager to join the dynamic and successful Structure and Motion Group. You will also be responsible for providing technical support for field studies, which make up a significant proportion of the group’s work.
You will be responsible for providing technical support at all stages of the research process including training students and staff, setting up equipment, collecting data, collating and analysing research results, developing new research methodologies, as well as responsibility for Health and Safety and Good Research Practice.
From time to time the nature of the research may require you or your team to travel within the UK and abroad (eg Australia, Botswana, South Africa) and may involve long or unsocial hours (eg very early morning starts at horse racing yards) and work in non-laboratory conditions (eg on farms). These all contribute to making the job interesting and varied.

Experience undertaking research in biomechanics, engineering or exercise science is essential, as is a science-related degree or HND/HNC.
