Research Assistant in Electronic Design

King’s College London – Division of Engineering

Fixed Term Contract – 7 months

We are looking for a Research Assistant in Electronic Design with both analogue and digital hardware design skills. The successful candidate will be given responsibility or one or more hardware design projects from initial design specification to final product.

The essential core skills required for consideration for this role are:

  1. Advanced professional experience in analogue/digital circuit design
  2. Excellent knowledge of electronics design tool e.g. PSpice, Multisim
  3. Strong knowledge of C/C++, Assembly

In addition to the core skills described above, demonstrable experience of any of the following supplementary skills will also be of value and taken into consideration:

  • Full life-cycle development experience
  • Experience of developing equipment for medical applications
  • Previous experience in ECG, blood pressure, pulse-oximetery would be a bonus

You will have a solid academic background with a good degree in Electronic Engineering or other related discipline, and be creative in solving problems and finding design solutions. To make a real contribution to the project we expect you to be a self-motivated person capable of working under pressure, have a good analytical mind and be able to demonstrate design skills with a proven track record of quality hardware development. You will be expected to be able to work equally well either as part of a team, or working unsupervised on one-person projects. You will also be expected to be responsible for the quality of your designs and their documentation. This post is full-time for 7 months.

The salary is offered is Grade 5, at £27,946 per annum inclusive of London Allowance.
