The Faculty is looking to appoint an experienced research technician to work on an exciting new research project on a 30 month fixed term contract.
We are looking for a research technician with a wide range of laboratory and fieldwork skills and experience to join our team researching the performance and environmental impact of a new type of household waste treatment facility. The work will mainly involve field and laboratory chemical analyses of biodegradable wastes, leachates and gaseous emissions from an industrial-scale waste composting facility. The post will be based in Milton Keynes so travelling to and from the research location (near Cambridge) will be required.
You should have a degree or equivalent in a scientific subject (preferably environmental, soil or biological sciences) and at least three years relevant laboratory experience with evidence of professional training in laboratory procedures (preferably in environmental research). You should be familiar with Health and Safety regulations, including CoSHH and be able to demonstrate strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
