The School of Information Systems, Computing and Mathematics at Brunel are home to two of the UK’s highly rated departments – Information Systems and Computing, and Mathematical Sciences. For RAE 2008, the Department of Information Systems and Computing is ranked top in the country in terms of ‘Research Power’, while some 60% of the research in the Mathematical Sciences Department has been rated ‘World-Leading’ or ‘Internationally Excellent’.
Current research strengths within the school include Applied Analysis, Biomedical Informatics and Systems Biology, Computational Mathematics, Continuum Mechanics, Healthcare Systems, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Systems, Intelligent Data Analysis, Mathematical Physics, Operational Research and Software Engineering.
Applications are invited from suitable candidates for PhD studentships in the above areas. Applicants should have at least a 2.1 class degree and ideally a Masters degree in a relevant discipline.
