A Post Doctoral Research Associate (PDRA) is required to work with Professor David Gibbs and Dr. Sally Eden on a research project entitled ‘Low Carbon Supply Chains’ for two years from January 2010. The role of the PDRA will be to: research into suppliers’ and customers’ responses to supply chain interventions designed to reduce carbon emissions; design interventions that are attractive to both suppliers and customers; test the impact of interventions on carbon emissions across the supply chain; design appropriate intervention methods for supply chains to reduce carbon emissions. The project forms part of a larger overall project on Low Carbon Supply Chains within the inter-University Centre for Low Carbon Futures (CLCF) and the PDRA will be required to work closely with other members of the project team in Sheffield and York.
The successful applicant will ideally have: (or be in the process of completing) a PhD in a relevant social science subject (e.g. geography, environmental studies, business, economics, sociology); experience of conducting surveys and interviews; experience of research with business and/or consumers; experience of liaising with policy and stakeholder groups.
Salary range £30,595 – £35,469 pa.
