Starting salary: £24,273
This is a fixed-term post for nine months.
People at the Centre of Mobile Application Design is a joint project between the Department of Computer Science and Electronics and the Department of Psychology with the aim of providing answers to some of the questions which arise when trying to design usable mobile applications, and so establish the foundations of a usability theory for such applications. The project will also initiate and strengthen interdisciplinary research between the two departments. The project draws on expertise in the two departments in empirical software engineering, interaction design and adult cognition.
You will be responsible for:
Undertaking research in computer science, in particular the usability of mobile applications
Contributing to the production of high quality publications
Making a contribution to the preparation of research grant applications and identifying sources of funding
You should have:
Either a PhD in computer science, cognitive science or related discipline or a PhD close to completion
Experience of dissemination of research findings through high quality publications and/or conference presentations
