Working with Dr C. M. Dayan, you will undertake an investigation of immune responses in the skin of normal control subjects and patients with type 1 diabetes. The aim of this project is to determine the effect of topical treatments on immune responses. Ultimately, the project will aim to test strategies of prevention of diabetes.
Experience in in-vitro and ex-vivo experimentation in human immunology is essential, and you should have a PhD in Immunology or a related discipline. You should also have the ability to present your research at scientific meetings and seminars within and outside the department and the ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people.
If successful, you may be appointed either on a fixed term or a permanent contract depending on the extent of your previous relevant research experience. Further information can be found at
