The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £31,620 – £38,250 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
This is an exciting and challenging position which involves managing multimodal monitoring systems being used to acquire data in patients and healthy volunteers, hardware systems interfacing, software development, signal processing and data analysis. The post holder will work closely with clinicians, physicists, engineers and mathematicians to aid the progression of research projects within the group. In particular the researcher will have a close working relationship with an MRC funded Clinical Fellow responsible for studies in volunteers and patients. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to explore, develop and publish their own research.
Applicants should have a good honours degree in Medical Physics, Medical Engineering or a related discipline, a PhD degree in a relevant area, or comparable research experience (if the PhD has not yet been granted, the final accepted version of the dissertation should have been submitted to the degree granting university by the time of starting).
A working knowledge of Matlab is essential. Candidates must have good inter-personal skills and an ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team within a clinical environment. Applicants should have some knowledge of research data analysis methods with a dynamic approach to interpreting complex datasets.
