Aston Business School invites applications for a Research Fellow to work on an EPSRC-funded project: Making Public Places Safer’ The objective will be to provide an assessment of the extent to which new developments in digital technology have reduced crime in public spaces.

You will be responsible for collecting and analyzing crime data, interpreting results, conducting appropriate literature reviews and preparing research reports for both presentation at conferences and for identified publications.

You will ideally have a PhD or be close to submitting a PhD thesis in Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematical Economics, Computer Science or a relevant discipline and have demonstrable experience in the analysis of quantitative of qualitative economics data.

Good presentation and report writing skills are essential along with a proven ability of meeting deadlines. Working knowledge of statistical software packages (i.e, Eviews) and some computer programming (i.e., Matlab) for analyzing data would be an advantage.
