Human gut model based investigation of Clostridium Difficile Infection

(Full-time, fixed term for 24 months available immediately)

A highly motivated post doctorate research worker is required to execute and co-ordinate in vitro studies of the pathogenesis of Clostridium Difficile Infection (CDI) based on gut model.  Working in a laboratory in the Institute of Molecular and Cellular Biology, you will be joining a research group that has an international reputation in the field of CDI.

You will have a first degree and PhD in microbiology or a closely allied discipline. Recent research experience with anaerobes, antibiotics and chemostats, along with evidence of co-ordination, leadership and writing skills is essential.  You will be required to supervise the work of laboratory workers and/or students in the supervisor’s laboratory, and to ensure a safe environment conducive to research. The ability to self-motivate and work to tight timescales is required.
