Salary up to £32,458 per annum (subject to experience and qualifications)
The Mobile Communications Research Group within CCSR is seeking to recruit a full-time researcher, initially for 1 year with the possibility of extension. The work is on one of our research projects funded by the EU ICT Framework program.
You will join an established research group within a 5*A research rated department with a large scale wireless testbed for experimental proof of concept, excellent computing and software infrastructure for first class research, modern facilities and close links with industry.
For this opening, the successful applicant will be required to have experience in the general area of Mobile and Wireless Communications. Good analytical and/or simulation skills as well as planning, specification and implementation of system simulators in C, C++ or Matlab are essential. Experience in proving Cognitive Radio Concepts using reconfigurable platforms will support any application. Applicants are expected to be proactive, to support other researchers and to be self-motivated.
Advanced proficiency in at least one of the following areas would support any application:
- Cognitive Radios and Cognitive Radio Systems
- Cross System Algorithms (triggers for handover between systems)
- Learning and decision making approaches
Applicants should have a good honours degree in communications or electronic engineering, in computer science or another related discipline. Preference will be given to those with proven research and publications track record preferably with PhD and/or practical industrial experience.
