Heriot-Watt University

Heriot-Watt University – School of the Built Environment

The School of the Built Environment has developed an extensive network of approved learning partners to provide support for a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses delivered by distance learning. This highly successful operation now has over 2000 students studying courses taken from programmes in Construction Management and Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering and Urban Studies.

To support these activities we wish to recruit to our bank of assistant examiners who will mark assignments, examination scripts and dissertations. We are interested in hearing from suitably qualified built environment academics and professional practitioners, preferably with teaching experience. Enquiries from those with a background in project management, construction safety, quantity surveying, facilities management including asset maintenance, real estate development, valuation and appraisal are particularly welcome.

For examination and assignments pprevious experience of marking is desirable, but not essential. For those wishing to carry out marking of dissertation applicants should have experience of assessing dissertation students at masters level.
