An experienced educator is required to join a small and successful team to work on the Secondary PGCE programme at the Hull Campus.  The post holder will be required to assist the MFL Method Tutor in all aspects of the training of prospective modern foreign language teachers on the PGCE course.  The department welcomes both UK trainees and trainees from continental Europe and further afield.  From the outset, work is firmly centred on the practical skills and techniques necessary for lively and successful language teaching.  The course seeks to establish what is involved in second-language learning and to review critically the various approaches, methods, techniques and materials used in the teaching of foreign languages within the context of present-day schools, curricula and examinations.  The postholder should have competence in 2 of the 3 following languages French, German, Spanish and successful experience as a MFL teacher in the secondary sector in the UK.

The post will involve the equivalent of 40 days within the academic year.  The postholder will need to be flexible as the duties may require variation in days per week ie not necessarily one day per week.

Salary range £37,839 – £43,840 pa, pro rata.

This post requires the employee to undertake an enhanced disclosure check by the Criminal Records Bureau.
