An exciting opportunity exists for an exceptional individual to join our outstanding Department of Anthropology for a period of 4 months to assist in the development of our academic specialisms in northern studies, environmental anthropology, and indigenous oral traditions.

You must hold a PhD in Anthropology and be able to demonstrate a proven track record of research and publication in environmental anthropology, circumpolar political developments and approaches to the analysis of oral tradition.  During the Fellowship you will be expected to contribute to the development of Postgraduate skills training in Northern Studies, Science Studies, Museum Studies, Ethnohistory, Oral Traditions and Anthropological Methods. Therefore you must be able to demonstrate extensive fieldwork experience relating to these areas.  Practical experience of working with indigenous languages is essential and an ability to communicate in at least one indigenous language is desirable.

Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 8 scale (£50,000 – £55,000 per annum) with placement according to qualifications and experience.
