The School of Economics is a lively, research-oriented department, committed to excellence in high quality research and teaching. The School has a strong international reputation in experimental and behavioural economics and in industrial and competition economics; it also engages in research in a number of other areas, such as development economics, labour economics, media economics, macroeconomics, financial econometrics and microeconometrics.

The successful applicant(s) will enrol on a research degree and will also be expected to contribute a limited amount of teaching within the School. Training to develop teaching skills will be given through the University Teaching Skills Programme for Postgraduate Teaching Assistants.
