You will be joining an established Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) team whose mission is to proactively capture ideas from the broad research and clinical base in order to deliver translational science and medicine to commercial outcomes in areas of unmet need.
In this NHS Lothian funded position, you will be required to proactively engage with all NHS Lothian departments and their staff, with a view to seeking and delivering, from the Intellectual Property base, and from idea to product, innovations that benefit NHS Lothian and the University of Edinburgh. In this role you will help to develop the EiR approach to suit NHS needs.
It is essential that you are a team player where you will be building projects, often involving external expertise and companies, in order to position them for the best commercial opportunity.
You will have a life science or engineering undergraduate degree, a PhD and / or a business qualification (eg: MBA). Experience in translating early opportunities to commercial reality is desirable. The post will be taken as soon as possible. Interviews expected week commencing Monday November 30th 2009. This post is available on a fixed term basis for 2 years .
