The Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities has been awarded funding from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation under their Sawyer Seminar programme for a research project on “Embodied Values: Bringing the Senses Back to the Environment”. The funding is for six seminars in 2010-11, culminating in a major conference in December 2011.
The Institute is seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Fellow to work on the project. The part-time (50%) post will be for two years from March 2010. The successful candidate will be expected to manage the Sawyer Seminar programme, working with the members of the project’s Steering Committee, and to produce a substantial, publishable, piece of research within some area of the series topic: “Embodied Values: Bringing the Senses Back to the Environment”. The project is multi-disciplinary and applications are invited from candidates working in any area of the Humanities and Social Sciences. In addition the Fellow will be part of the lively research community at IASH and is expected to play a full part in the activities of the Institute.
Salary Scale: £29,704 – £35,469 (pro rata 50% of full-time)
